Many people allege that the artificial sweetener Aspartame can cause many health problems including neurological conditions and brain tumours.
Links on this page deal with the issues including many 'victim' reports, a few scientific reports and links to various foods standards agencies including the FDA (US) and the Food Standards Agency (UK). In particular the FDA site search on 'aspartame' yealds a wealth of material including victim reports.
My own personal view? Having trawled the various sites researching aspartane, I will not be consuming any products using it.

'After contact with the Food Advisory Committee ‚ an independent committee which advised the Board of the Food Standards Agency ‚ the Agency has conducted a detailed literature search on aspartame and identified more than 500 papers on this sweetener published between 1988 and 2000.'
